Geraldine Feria, MD
I am proud to be a part of the Wanatah community.
After completing a three-year pediatrics residency at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center and working with pediatric patients for several years, Geraldine Feria, MD moved to the United States where she completed a dual residency program in pediatrics and internal medicine at Hurley Medical Center in Michigan. “For me, internal medicine seemed like a logical step,” said Feria. “Working with children also includes working with their parents and, at times, helping them with their own healthcare concerns that may also affect their children's health.” During her residency, Feria also gained experience working with geriatric patients. “In many respects, the geriatric population is similar to pediatrics. The patients are honest and fragile like small children, but,” she said, “their frailty is the other extreme.” Highly regarded by her peers, Feria received Hurley Medical Center’s Professionalism Award for two consecutive years. Nurses give the award to a resident who demonstrates excellent work ethic, teamwork and patient care.
