James Anthony, MD
I always see my patients in the context of their family.
As a child seeing a relative being taken repeatedly to the hospital for treatment of asthma, to then seeing the same person return home much improved, Dr. Anthony was compelled to become a physician. “I saw how doctors could really affect someone’s well-being, and I wanted to be able to do that as well,” he said. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Anthony completed a residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. He went on to serve a fellowship in pulmonary/critical care medicine at the same institution. In practice since 2010, Dr. Anthony says, “I thoroughly enjoy the fast pace of this field. Because of its acute nature, we must act quickly to stabilize the patient.”
