Valparaiso Family Health Center

Identifying and Treating Illnesses in all Family Members

A board-certified family physician and licensed in medical acupuncture, Dr. Atassi combines the knowledge of traditional Western medicine with training in the principles, theory and use of acupuncture. Medical acupuncture is used to treat a number of conditions, especially those conditions that are not responding to more traditional treatment methods. While not every patient is a candidate for acupuncture, Dr. Atassi will work with you to determine the treatment option best suited for your condition.

Medical Acupuncture

Acupuncture is credited as being scientifically valid for medical therapy and numerous studies have proven the effectiveness of the technique in a medical setting. In 2003, the World Health Organization published a list of disease, symptoms and conditions that respond to acupuncture treatment.

Dr. Atassi is a fully trained and licensed medical doctor who has also received extensive training in the ancient discipline of acupuncture. Because of his solid medical background, Dr. Atassi is able to understand the underlying cause or origin of your disease. In so doing, he is not just treating a symptom but getting at the root of the problem. Dr. Atassi stresses acupuncture is a treatment option for his patients who may not have responded to previous medical interventions.
